The production of an explainer video or animated video involves several steps. In each phase, revision cycles with you ensure that the result corresponds to your wishes and ideas. Therefore I only start with the next step after I have received your final approval.
In the first step, during a detailed briefing conversation, we clarify all relevant questions regarding the content of the video, the purpose, target audience, core message, and style. Together, we define the best approaches to effectively achieve your goal.
The voiceover script forms the basis of the video. The
content is transformed into an engaging story where the
information is communicated in a simplified way. The chosen words and language are carefully selected to fit perfectly with
the target audience, ensuring that the content can be easily
understood.
A series of simple sketches are created, where each image
visualizies a sentence of the voice over script. This provides a visual representation of how the final video will look. Additionally,
it helps ensure that all necessary content is communicated through the video.

Based on the storyboard, I create custom illustrations in the desired style. We define the specific style beforehand by referencing examples and discussing preferences. Once you approve the final visual style, I create all the illustrations and prepare them for the animation.
The illustrations are brought to life according to the specifications outlined in the storyboard. The individual scenes are brought together for the final video, sound design and music direct the focus and arouse additional emotions.
Explainer videos can be produced in various styles. For each video, I develop a unique illustration style that perfectly aligns with your company and target audience. I’m happy to advise you on which style is best suited to achieve your goals.
In the line art style, complex content is presented in a simplified and minimalist manner. The graphics primarily consist of lines, complemented by occasional areas of color. This style creates an informative atmosphere and directs focus towards essential information.
In flat style, simple color areas and shapes are used to create depth, giving videos a colorful, vibrant, and dynamic atmosphere. This style is particularly well-suited for telling engaging stories in explainer videos.
In this style, flat illustrations are enhanced with additional elements. In addition to simple color shapes, this style incorporates shading, textures, and additional details. This creates additional depth and dynamism, which is ideal suited for videos that should entertain and evoke strong emotions.
In the isometric style, 3D objects are represented in a 2D space. This style is particularly effective in illustrating complex concepts at a glance. By depicting objects from different perspectives, it provides a clear overview of spatial processes and intricate connections.
The prices for explainer videos and animated videos can vary depending on individual requirements and the scope of the production. This is because the costs are determined by the efforts involved in each production step, which can vary in terms of time and resources required. For reference, here are some factors that can significantly influence the price of an explainer video:
Longer animated videos typically require more effort and time to produce, which can result in higher prices compared to shorter videos. However, it is recommended to limit the length of the video to one – two minutes to avoid losing the viewers’ attention. The price per minute may vary depending on the total length of the video.
A simplified graphic style allows for faster production of explainer videos compared to more detailed illustration styles such as 2D or isometric styles. When choosing the style, I carefully consider your individual requirements and goals to achieve the best possible result.
If the video contains only a few different illustrations and the scenes do not change often, it requires less effort to produce the visuals and the animations. On the other hand, videos with many different scenes, objects, and characters require more effort, and therefore the price increases.
The more dynamic and the animations, the more captivating the overall result. However, more detailed animation also requires more time in the production. Simple elements like icons or text can typically be animated faster than complex characters or objects with lots of details.
