Scientific explainer video - Transbiotics

The goal of the technology 'Transbiotics' is to eliminate pathogens in agriculture, aquaculture and vector-borne disease. Naturally occuring bacteria are used to deliver a double stranded RNA to an organism that carries the pathogen. The bacteria delivers the dsRNA to the cells of the host organism, e.g. a mosquito or a plant. The dsRNA is now able to inactivate the target genes of the pathogen. The elegance of the technology is that it pathogens are eliminated without the use of toxic herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics that harm our environment.

This animation was produced in cooperation with AldenMc Marketing for the company family Pebble Labs. I created the visual concept as well as the illustrations and animations.
